Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Manager to oversee financial administration and operations across multiple stores. The ideal candidate will manage cash flow, creditor and debtor accounts, payroll processes, and statutory compliance, while producing accurate financial reports to drive decision-making and ensure operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to handle complex financial systems and processes. They will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage daily bank accounts and payment schedules.
  2. Oversee cash flow operations, ensuring timely payments and accurate tracking.
  3. Handle balancing and reconciliation of cash offices, petty cash, and weekly safe counts.

Creditors & Debtors Management:

  1. Reconcile monthly supplier statements and process payments.
  2. Handle invoices, credit applications, and account queries.
  3. Maintain accurate debtor records and ensure prompt collections.

Payroll & Human Resources:

  1. Process and release payroll for all stores, including importing payroll data to the bank.
  2. Submit monthly UIF declarations and handle salary tax submissions.
  3. Reconcile Provident Fund contributions and manage employee timetables.

Statutory Compliance:

  1. Prepare and submit VAT, EMP201, and annual EMP501 reconciliations.
  2. Complete Workman's Compensation declarations and other required statutory filings.
  3. Prepare and present detailed income statements, gross profit analyses, and cash flow forecasts.
  4. Ensure compliance with auditing requirements and provide documentation for external reviews.
  5. Generate and analyze weekly sales and stock reports to identify inefficiencies and address negative GP trends.

Stock & Inventory Management:

  1. Monitor and analyze inventory levels across departments and stores.
  2. Produce reports on optimal stock levels, overstocked items, and underperforming inventory.

Other Key Tasks:

  1. Assist in budget preparation and comparisons of budget versus actual results.
  2. Maintain updated loan account records and depreciation schedules.
  3. Provide financial insights and support to senior management for strategic planning.
