- Role Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Procurement Assistant to join our Procurement Department at Optential Consulting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring the timely delivery of materials, and maintaining accurate pricing records.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading Purchase Orders (POs) and managing delivery of the right product, quality, price, quantity, and location
- Managing inventory levels and ensuring timely delivery of materials
- Maintaining supplier pricelists and updating PO prices and accuracy
- Verifying PO prices and invoice accuracy
- Supporting the Procurement Manager in negotiating improved terms and pricing with suppliers
- Assisting the Procurement Manager in managing and building strong supplier relationships
- Identifying and sourcing new products and potential suppliers
- Communicating weekly data reports to suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Collaborating with the production planning team to meet sales forecasts
- Assisting the Procurement Manager with market research on the latest industry trends
- Supporting the business (Operations, Marketing, and Sales team) in delivering a world-class customer experience
- Supporting the Procurement Manager in daily tasks and updates
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Degree or Higher Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics
- Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in procurement

- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proactive and able to work efficiently and independently
- Strong data comprehension to inform decisions, identify root causes, and resolve problems
- Comfortable with change and an excellent team player
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Strong relationship management
- Experience working on SYSPRO/Evolution/SAP ERP systems
