About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Insurance Specialist to join our team at Old Mutual. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for identifying and executing innovative methods to build your own insurance portfolio, while providing quality direct sales service that results in the production of business from new and existing sources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and execute on innovative methods to build your own insurance portfolio, ensuring that it aligns with the company's growth and profitability goals.
  • Prospect for new clients through networking, cold-calling, and door-to-door canvassing, leveraging your expertise in risk management and sales to build strong relationships.
  • Manage and drive portfolio profitability and growth by ensuring that ongoing service and support (amendments, renewals, and claims) provided to clients is delivered on time and improves the quality of the business underwritten.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk evaluations for clients, providing solutions to their needs by selling non-life products aligned to their requirements.
  • Continuously build your client base to secure future portfolio growth, identifying and acting on cross- and up-selling opportunities across all products.
  • Sell according to agreed targets for the day, week, and month, maintaining minimum agreed quote volumes and quote-to-sales ratios.
  • Maintain an agreed NTU (Not Taken Up) and cancellation ratio, ensuring that service level agreement standards are met or exceeded in all engagements.
  • Perform after-sales service tasks according to allocated portfolios of customers, monitoring and resolving escalated client queries and complaints timeously.
  • Manage relationships with clients, ensuring that service level agreement standards are met or exceeded in all engagements, and retain existing business including renewal discussions in line with business process and FAIS Code of Conduct.
  • Create collaborative relationships with other departments (underwriting/pricing, and claims) to determine process improvements designed to enhance the customer experience and create easy, value peace of mind.
  • Manage time and workloads to ensure that deadlines and targets are met, aligning your behavior with the organization's culture and values.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate.
  • FAIS Compliant in Non-life Commercial product category.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in non-life insurance.
  • A valid driver's license with own reliable transport required for the role.
