Franchise Manager Job Description

Kencorp is seeking a highly skilled Franchise Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for driving the success of our franchisees and ensuring the growth and profitability of our restaurant portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Portfolio Management: Oversee a portfolio of restaurants, ensuring they meet our brand standards and achieve their financial targets.
  • Sustainability and Profitability: Drive sustainability, sales, and profitability initiatives across our sites, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Business Planning and Budgeting: Assist franchisees in developing and implementing business plans and budgets, ensuring they align with our brand's strategic objectives.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure franchisees comply with our Franchise Agreements and implement Standards of Operations Programs to protect our brand integrity.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Interpret monthly management accounts, benchmark performance, and suggest corrective actions to drive business improvement.
  • Project Management: Sign off project plans and execute restaurant revamps, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Training and Development: Identify and communicate formal training needs to our training department, ensuring our franchisees have the skills and knowledge required to succeed.
  • Marketing and Branding: Assist franchisees in selecting and formulating locality marketing strategies, ensuring they increase brand awareness and grow their business turnovers.
  • Brand Custodianship: Act as a brand custodian, ensuring our brand integrity is protected at all times through adherence to our brand standards and requirements.
  • Lease and Rental Negotiations: Negotiate leases and rentals with property groups on behalf of our franchisees.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor turnover performance, achieve budgeted LOL growth, and drive our brand's marketing strategy.
  • Financial Presentations: Present financial information to our management team and franchisee network.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, conducting weekly calls, monthly feedback, and one-on-one meetings with franchisees.
  • Franchisee Engagement: Drive franchisee attendance and participation at regional meetings, ensuring they are engaged and informed.
  • Expense Management: Manage expense budgets, accommodation expenses, traveling expenses, and show expense control initiatives.
  • Operations Reviews: Participate in regional operations reviews, ensuring our franchisees are meeting our brand's operational standards.
  • Campaign Management: Actively manage operations campaigns, ensuring our franchisees are aware of and implementing our brand's initiatives.
  • Business Profitability: Drive business profitability for our franchisees and ensure they achieve all store targets.
Requirements:
  • Education: Business Diploma + Grade 12
  • Experience: 3 years of multi-store experience in the restaurant industry as an Area/Regional/Franchise Manager
  • Skills: Advanced Excel skills, 5 years of experience in GAAP/Micros, 5 years of experience in food cost control, labour control, budgets, expenses, and sales targets
  • Other: Must be able to travel daily, only SA citizens will be considered
