Position Overview: Hire Resolve's client, a leader in the Renewable Energy sector, is seeking a Director of Business Growth to enhance their team. This role can be based in either Gauteng or the Western Cape. The Director will spearhead initiatives aimed at expanding business opportunities within the renewable energy landscape. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in renewable energy, along with proven expertise in identifying and capitalizing on new business prospects, forging strategic alliances, and driving revenue enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate strategies for demand generation and develop innovative product and service offerings to boost revenue and address market needs.
  • Negotiate and establish business agreements with clients.
  • Conduct financial modeling for new business opportunities.
  • Implement a direct approach to perform cost-benefit analyses and financial assessments of new ventures.
  • Champion the integration of new technologies to enhance the business portfolio and operational processes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to adapt existing portfolios to emerging business opportunities.
  • Conduct product research to evaluate future impacts on offerings and production.
  • Develop comprehensive business development strategies aligned with the overall organizational objectives.
  • Oversee the creation of research reports on potential revenue streams and business risks.
  • Lead the development of business intelligence frameworks to enhance data analytics and market evaluations.
  • Identify opportunities for improving business processes.
  • Facilitate discussions within local or regional teams to finalize business development decisions.
  • Manage new business opportunity projects informed by feedback from business networks and the economic environment.
  • Direct new business initiatives and strategize market entry approaches.
  • Foster partnerships with internal stakeholders to pinpoint opportunities for the portfolio.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders, developing strategies to leverage networks for business opportunities and partnerships.
  • Oversee the financial budgeting process for the department to secure necessary funding for activities.
  • Maintain and nurture client relationships.
  • Set targets and objectives in alignment with business development strategies.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering or finance is required.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Proven track record in sales and business development.
  • Ability to multitask, self-motivated, and a dynamic team player with a flexible approach.
  • Strong organizational skills, resource planning, and program scheduling capabilities.
  • Ability to produce both summarized and detailed reports on ongoing activities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with construction contracts is advantageous.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Customer-oriented and proactive.
  • Effective communicator and motivator across all organizational levels.
  • Dependable, organized, and solution-oriented.
  • Able to thrive in high-pressure environments with minimal supervision.
