Chef De Partie (Pastry) Job Description

Crew Life at Sea is seeking a skilled and experienced Chef De Partie (Pastry) to join our culinary team on a cruise ship. As a key member of our pastry team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality pastries and desserts in accordance with company standards and recipes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement new pastry recipes and menu items to enhance the dining experience for our guests.
  • Assist in menu planning and development, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and guest preferences.
  • Oversee and manage the pastry station, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and efficiency.
  • Train and supervise junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to maintain high standards.
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed to ensure a well-stocked and functioning pastry station.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations at all times.
  • Collaborate with other chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
  • Continuously strive to improve and innovate pastry offerings, keeping up with industry trends and guest feedback.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Pastry Chef or Chef De Partie (Pastry) in a high-volume fine dining establishment.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and flavor combinations.
  • Experience with menu planning and recipe development.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • High attention to detail and organization.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary certifications for working on a cruise ship.
