About the Role

At HR Genie, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including menu planning and food preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing daily kitchen operations, ensuring seamless food preparation and presentation.
  • Specialize in pastry and baking, creating innovative and delicious desserts and baked goods that exceed customer expectations.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste to optimize profitability.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment that promotes growth and development.
  • Oversee kitchen staff management, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene, adhering to health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new recipes and culinary techniques that drive menu innovation and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Handle customer feedback and make necessary adjustments to meet customer expectations, ensuring exceptional customer service.

Requirements:

  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification, with a strong background in pastry and baking.
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role, with a track record of success in kitchen operations and staff management.
