Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Administrative Specialist to join our team at the U.S. Embassy in South Africa.

About the Job

The selected candidate will provide a full range of Payroll and Time & Attendance services, serving as the primary point of contact with the Global Financial Services Center (GFSC) on resolving pay discrepancies. They will also provide guidance on Workman's Compensation claims and oversee the Official Residence Employees (OREs).

Responsibilities
  • Provide Payroll and Time & Attendance services for USDHs, Eligible Family Members, and Locally Employed Staff.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with the GFSC on resolving pay discrepancies.
  • Provide guidance on Workman's Compensation claims.
  • Oversee the Official Residence Employees (OREs).
Requirements
  • A Completed Two-year College Diploma is required.
  • Minimum three years of progressively responsible experience in Payroll administration and Time Attendance Reporting is required.
  • Good knowledge of basic accounting principles, Basic conditions of employment act of South Africa, Payroll and records management is required.
  • Knowledge of payroll software/system and data entry is required and basic understanding of local taxes.
  • Must be proficient in the use of all office equipment, knowledge of MS Word, MS PowerPoint and Excel with utmost accuracy and attention to detail is required.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is R600,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. The U.S. Embassy offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position working in an office environment. The selected candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
