Sales Role Overview
\Kontak Recruitment is seeking a results-driven Senior Sales Professional to join our team. This role focuses on building client relationships, managing key accounts, and driving sales growth to strengthen our market presence in South Africa.
\The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of external sales experience in power solutions, energy storage, electrical components, or a technical, engineering, or electronics field—along with experience in tracking, utility metering, or similar industries, and an existing client network.
\Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain and service existing customer accounts while identifying opportunities to establish new ones.\
- Analyze market trends by segment, application, and brand preferences.\
- Concentrate sales efforts on high-potential dealers and customers.\
- Submit stock requisition forms and communicate with the purchasing department to align with customer needs.\
- Create and follow up on quotations, identifying reasons for rejections.\
- Initiate and maintain sales orders accurately in the system, ensuring clear communication with customers.\
- Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, including daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly/annual reports.\
- Share insights on customer direction and market trends with management as needed.\
- Ensure timely delivery and communicate any discrepancies with customers.\
- Follow up on overdue accounts.\
- Assist in opening new customer credit accounts and collaborate closely with the finance department.\
- Stay informed about import schedules and inventory inflows, and provide reports as necessary.\
- Possess in-depth knowledge of product/solution offerings to advise customers.\
- Conduct annual reviews of the client base and project future client acquisition based on client knowledge.\
- Work towards achieving the sales targets set by management.\
Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Matric and a Sales and Marketing degree or diploma.\
- 3 to 5 years of experience as an External Sales Executive.\
- Background in the battery industry or a technical/engineering/electronics field.\
- Existing client networks or experience within relevant market sectors, including:\
- \
- Relevant industries and sectors include tracking, utility metering, data logging, military and mining industries, telemetry, emergency and solar lighting, security, POS devices, telecommunications, energy storage systems (ESS), and aviation.\
- Self-driven and self-managed.\
- Knowledge and experience using CRM systems.\
- Team player.\
