Job Summary:

The primary objective of this role is to lead sales and business development activities for flow measurement products in South Africa and Southern African countries. This position is designed to drive the adoption and acceptance of our products and solutions to grow business in the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead sales and business development initiatives for flow measurement products in South Africa and Southern African countries to meet or exceed business unit financial objectives.
  2. Develop and own the business unit strategic plan and key initiatives.
  3. Identify growth opportunities and manage sales opportunities in the market for flow products in South Africa and Southern African countries.
  4. Improve business group and customer satisfaction by understanding, communicating, and driving solutions to their needs.
  5. Participate in developing and executing sales strategies for projects and MRO opportunities. Maintain an accurate project pursuit list, monthly pipeline report, and provide monthly reports and forecasts to the sales director.
  6. Collaborate with regional sales individuals, product managers, and local business partners across South Africa and Southern Africa as needed. Work closely with Emerson and local business partner proposal generation groups to ensure all offers reflect customer needs, are competitively priced, and are submitted on time.
  7. Liaise with customers, Emerson teams, and local business partners to prioritize effort, capture competitive intelligence, and improve customer service, consistent with business group sales strategies and key account plans.
  8. Stay up-to-date with developments and trends in products, industries, and market conditions. Develop and maintain sales tools within the scope of work. Implement and own business group-related marketing activities.
  9. Prepare and present marketing forecasts, pricing surveys, competitor intelligence, and country marketing plans in partnership with regional managers or country leaders.
  10. Work closely with other Emerson business groups to improve pull-through content and identify white spaces.
  11. Support strengthening existing and developing new business group relationships and develop new relationships with customers or third-party personnel who may influence and make buying decisions.
  12. Fulfill any other reasonable duties as required.
Requirements:
  1. Engineering degree or relevant work experience.
  2. A minimum of 10 years' experience within the process control industry.
  3. Minimum 10 years' experience in sales and marketing with at least 5 years of field sales of flow metering products in relevant industries.
  4. Track record of business growth.
  5. Minimum of 5 years' interactive relationship with end users, EPCs, engineering consultants.
  6. Coordination and negotiation skills.
  7. Business degree is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Minimum 10 years' experience in sales and marketing with at least 5 years of field sales of flow metering products in relevant industries.
