About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Head of Business Development. This is a 12-month contract position based at our Groenkloof office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Drive Commercialization Vision

Develop and drive a dynamic and innovative commercialization vision for our client with a strong focus on short, medium, and long-term income-generating strategies for tourism business development.

Implement and Monitor Strategic Plan

Implement and monitor the strategic plan for commercialization in line with our client and National Treasury requirements.

Advise and Negotiate Commercial Terms

Advise and negotiate on key commercial terms including valuation and deal structure for tourism PPP transactions.

Ensure Financial and Commercial Soundness

Ensure that all agreements reached are financially, commercially, and legally sound.

Manage PPP Transactions

Ensure sound financial, technical, and legal management of all PPP transactions.

Manage Stakeholder Relationships

Manage and retain solid internal and external stakeholder relationships at the strategic level.

Lead Human Capital Development

Provide leadership, development, and management of human capital.

Lead in Tourism PPPs Environment

Maintain leadership in the tourism PPPs environment.

Requirements
  • Education

Be in possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Corporate Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.

Desirable Qualifications

The Master's Degree is desirable in Commerce, Corporate Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.

Experience

Must have years of general management experience, a minimum of 5 years should be in a senior management role.

Senior Management Experience

5 years of senior management experience in a commercial deal structuring environment either in the private or public sector.

Business Feasibility Analysis

5 years' experience in business feasibility analysis.

Commercial Contract Management

2 years experience in commercial contract management and legal environment.

Investment/Deal Structuring

A sound knowledge of Investment/deal structuring and evaluation.

Capital Funding

A good understanding of capital funding.

Strategic Planning

Knowledge of strategic planning.

Leadership Skills

Leadership skills.

Matrix Environment

Ability to function in a matrix environment.

Communication Skills

Communication skills (verbal and written).

Financial Management

Financial management skills.

Conflict Management

Conflict management skills.

Diversity Management/Change Management

Diversity management/change management skills.

Project Management

Tourism and Conservation Industry
