Job Title: Director of Professional and Technical Services

We are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Director of Professional and Technical Services to lead our department responsible for the long-term requirements of our property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy aligned with our company's vision and goals.
  • Quantity Surveying and Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction, renovation, and maintenance projects, ensuring other functional areas are included in the design and construction of projects to ensure a smooth handover to operations upon completion.
  • Procurement and Contract Management: Lead procurement activities, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract administration, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and industry standards.
  • Technical Operations: Oversee technical systems, infrastructure, and utility hardware across our properties, collaborating with engineers, architects, and construction teams to optimize technical efficiency.
  • Project Management: Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables, implementing effective project management methodologies and working with other functional areas to ensure successful handover of completed projects and documentation.
  • Risk Assessments and Mitigation: Identify and assess risks related to project costs, materials, and technical operations, implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Financial Reporting: Generate regular financial reports, including cost breakdowns, forecasts, and cash flow projections, presenting findings to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure the accuracy and reliability of technical data, reviewing project documentation for compliance with standards, and ensuring all technical compliance certification & documentation are obtained and stored.
  • Industry Research and Innovation: Stay informed about industry trends, market rates, and emerging technologies, exploring innovative approaches to enhance technical efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Professional membership (e.g., MRICS, PQS) is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in quantity surveying and technical management.
Skills:
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software, technical systems, and tools.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, regulations, and best practices.
