Strategic Business Expansion Manager

RS Recruitment Services is partnering with a leading retail hardware organisation to recruit a New Business Development Manager to be based at their offices in Durban, KZN.
Salary and BenefitsThe remuneration package includes a basic salary of R45k, car allowance of R21k, medical aid, and provident fund benefits.
Job DescriptionThe purpose of this position is to facilitate the entry of new stores into the group by identifying and evaluating prospective sites on a macro and micro level. The successful candidate will present selected sites to the Regional Committee for membership approval and finalise lease agreements to secure selected sites for development.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be considered for this role, applicants must have:
- National Senior Certificate (Matric)
- Relevant business-related tertiary qualification
- Minimum 5 years' experience specific to the FMCG retail industry
- Experience in the building/hardware industry is an advantage
In addition, the ideal candidate should possess strong negotiating skills, thorough knowledge of leasing and contracts, and ability to interpret demographic data.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing and providing leadership to the regional team on viable opportunities in the property market
- Evaluation of prospective sites on macro and micro levels
- Presentation of selected sites to the Regional Committee for membership approval
- Finalisation of lease agreements and securing of selected sites for development
- Interview and evaluation of prospective retailers, including cost analysis of setting up
- Oversight of facilitation of the sale of existing stores
- Developing a growth strategy in line with the regional retail operations strategy to drive business growth
