We are searching for an experienced Reservations Manager for an upmarket Boutique Hotel in Cape Town.

**Position Summary**: The Reservations Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of the department by providing prompt, effective, and proper reservation services. The primary goal is to achieve maximum room revenue, meeting or exceeding revenue targets. The Reservation Manager oversees general job performance, implements policies and procedures, conducts training, and handles various responsibilities as directed by senior managers.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- ** Reservation Procedures and team management**: Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the entire reservation procedure and manage the reservations team. Suggest and implement any improvements and take responsibility for the entire reservations process.
- Manage all booking**.**com and other booking channels.
- ** Task Allocation**: Allocate daily tasks to reservations staff to ensure efficient workflow.
- ** Daily Reviews**: Regularly review daily reservations and arrival reports.
- ** Occupancy Forecast**: Prepare and maintain an occupancy forecast based on current reservations.
- ** Training**: Conduct training sessions for reservations staff.
- ** Policies and Procedures**: Implement and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
- ** Company/Travel Agent Rates**: Record rates in the system and correspondence file.
- ** Department Liaison**: Collaborate with other departments regarding occupancy, rates, and reservations analysis.
- ** Top Producing Accounts**: Identify and ensure proper recognition of top-producing accounts by reservations staff.
- ** Product Knowledge**: Maintain and enhance knowledge of hotel facilities/services and ensure reservations staff are equally informed.
- ** Production Reports**: Prepare various production reports and distribute them to relevant departments.
- ** Telephone Monitoring**: Monitor telephone manners and general performance of reservations staff daily.
- ** Special Handling**: Ensure special handling of repeat guests and guests with special requests.
- ** Maintain Telephone Etiquette**: Observe and ensure proper telephone manners are maintained at all times.
- ** Group Reservations**: Supervise and coordinate group reservations activities with the Sales Department and Revenue Manager.
- ** Tentative Bookings**: Follow up on tentative bookings and update reservation status
- ** No-Show and Cancellations**: Review no-show and cancelled reservations, processing charges according to the hotel’s policy.
- ** Work Schedule**: Responsible for creating and maintaining a work schedule.
- ** Maintain Neatness**: Always ensure a neat and orderly position.
- ** Additional Responsibilities**: Perform any other duties as requested by senior management.
- ** Airbnb role out**: Certain rooms are going to be offered on a self-catering basis via Airbnb and so they would need to manage this process and the implementation and integration of this into our booking system.

**Additional Skills**:

- Knowledge of Semper software is advantageous but not necessary.
