**Requirements**:

- BTech or Degree in Civil Engineering
- Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management qualification

(advantageous).
- Management / Project Management is essential
- Portfolio and Programme Management is advantageous
- Implementation of Project Systems (SAP, SAP PPM) is

advantageous
- 8 years relevant experience
- Senior Management level experience / exposure essential
- A valid driver’s licence and the ability to travel
- Computer Literacy - MS Office Applications (MS Projects etc.)

Key Performance Areas
- Managing the project management strategy of the Informal

Settlements Basic Services Project Management Unit (PMU)
- Coordinate the City’s response to and activities within informal

settlements, especially as they relate to community engagement

and service delivery.
- Drives experimentation with context appropriate alternative

sanitations technologies and business models that support the

overarching vision of the City.
- Drives the process of institutionalising appropriate solutions and

replicate/ scale accordingly.
- Oversee the development, piloting and scaling of new

approaches to in-situ upgrading of water and sanitation in

informal settlements
- Corporative governance activities; Providing input into corporate

activities
- Leading and directing high level interaction with internal and

external stakeholders
- Leading and directing the activities associated with high level input

into programme and project planning
- Leading and directing the monitoring of the implementation of

projects across various Directorates within the City in a transversal

model
- Providing Programme and project integration management,

project scope, time and cost management, alongside the

programme and project managers within the PMU
