WATER AND SANITATION WS 166/23 Professional Officer

**Requirements**:

- B Degree/B Tech or equivalent NQF 7 qualification in Accounting

and/or Finance
- In-depth knowledge of Financial regulations, in particular Local

Government principles and systems
- 2-5 years’ relevant experience in Accounting and Financial

administration
- Specialised knowledge of municipal accounting, budgeting

procedures and practises.
- Proficiency in Ms Office and SAP financial system

Key Performance Areas
- Provide professional advice to branches within the department

on financial best practice in terms of executing

budget/expenditure.
- Facilitates the implementation of the key performance areas

and result indicators associated with the provision of an

Accounting Service.
- Analysing various cost centre expenditure reports for posting

errors and arranging corrective action.
- Implement processes facilitating the key performance areas

and result indicators associated with the provision of

Financial Administration.
- Co-ordinate and control the key performance areas and result

indicators associated with the provision of Financial Risk

Management oversight through research and investigation.
- Co-ordinate and control the key performance areas and result

indicators associated with the provision of Financial Liaison.
- Co-ordinate the key performance areas and result indicators

associated with the provision of Financial Training.
- Co-ordinate the general administrative duties for the branch.
