Human Resources Specialist

**Role Outline**:
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the effective management of labour related
matters or function at the operation. The position requires compliance with defined Group HR
policies, systems, practices, standards, procedures and the execution of strategy. The status
quo of current practices is continuously challenged to promote HR services that will add
optimal value to the day-to-day
operations of the mine.
Comply with provided HR standards and implemented in conjunction with the HR Leader.
The jobholder leads and controls all operational HR related activities and liaises with relevant
internal and external stakeholders. He/she is an expert in the field of HR and as such provides
valued guidance and/or advice.
Key to this position is to make sure that appropriate HR systems are being adhered to in order
to achieve optimal staffing, e.g. Staffing plan, labour turnover, recruitment, selection,
succession planning, performance management, training and development.
Sound labour relations and effective communication practices with recognised unions and
associations are maintained and entrenched. Conducive working conditions are promoted and
industrial action is limited through sound HR practices.
Primary Health Care services are monitored to ensure good quality service to employees.
The jobholder builds a motivated and unified performance driven team and liaises with
interested and affected parties. He/she is responsible for his/her own safety as well as for
others according to the Mine Health and Safety Act.

**Qualifications and Experience**:
**Required**:
- National Higher Diploma/ Degree in HR Management
- Code B drivers license
- Medical Certificate of Fitness
- English proficiency
- Computer literacy
- 5 years HR experience within a mining industry on Supervisory level
**Preferred**:
- Relevant post graduate qualification in HR management
**Experience**:5 years HR experience within a **mining industry** on Supervisory level
