Harbour House Hotel in Hermanus seeks a passionate Front Office Duty Manager (Host) that will be responsible for overseeing of the daily Front desk operations, ensuring employee productivity, monitoring efficiency of al processes and creating a positive work environment.

**Minimum requirements**:

- Matric
- Hotel Management Diploma (advantageous)
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position
- Multi-venue experience advantageous
- Strong OPERA knowledge
- Valid driver's license and own vehicle (advantageous)

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Ensure outstanding customer service at all times
- Courteously and accurately answers enquiries from potential guests and makes reservations
- Responds to telephone and in-person enquiries regarding reservations, hotel information and guest concerns
- Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell room nights, increase occupancy and revenue
- Supervise daily shift process ensuring all team members adhere to Standard Operating Procedures
- Train, direct the work ok, resolve issues/problems and coach and counsel the front desk team members to ensure a high quality operation
- Resolve customer issues, complaints, problems in a quick, efficient manner to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality service
- Allocate rooms to expected arrivals after checking the guest preferences and special requests
- Assist all departments in servicing the guests, especially during high volume periods
- Takes responsibility in the absence of the Assistant Hotel Manager and Hotel Manager
- Produces hotel front desk schedules
- Assist event management where necessary
- Doing hotel property walks daily and reporting issues
- Adhere to company credit limit policies
- Controls cash transactions at the front desk and maintains complete responsibility for personal bank as specified by the bank agreement policy
- Month end account management
- Managing all open accounts on a daily basis
- Analise customer feedback and providing strategic direction and continuously improve overall rating
- Responding to guest needs and anticipating their unstated ones
- Promote all hotel amenities, conveniences and programs offered
- Recommend local tourist spots, including places to dine, shop and sight see.
