Front Office Duty Manager

Harbour House Hotel in Hermanus is looking for a passionate seasonal relief Front Office Duty Manager to support to join their established team.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
- Grade 12
- Hospitality Qualification (advantageous)
- Working knowledge of OPERA
- Previous experience in the same or similar position
- Familiar with duties and procedures in the self-catering apartments and/ or Airbnb
- Own reliable transport
- Must speak, read, write, and understand English at a professional level
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Front Desk**:
- Introduce and maintain the most efficient check-in/out procedures.
- To ensure that reservations are taken correctly and courteously.
- Ensure guests are greeted, checked in to allocated rooms promptly and courteously
- Ensure credit control procedures are strictly adhered to.
- To ensure that accounts are balanced daily.
- Manage the arrival and departure turnover.
- Ensure collection and delivery of luggage to the apartments is done efficiently.
- Daily spot checks of suites and rooms to ensure 5 star standards.
- Nominating and identifying VNL leisure club members.
**Communication**:
- To ensure effective liaison between reservations and front office staff with other departments.
- Ensuring that all staff members are aware of all activities at the Village.
- Ensure accurate and timeous submission of all reports and administrative work.
- To attend all management meetings as required.
**Guest relations**:
- Readily available at all times to deal with problems or complaints.
- Tend to and arrange for guest needs.
- To monitor trends within the industry and make suggestions how these could be implemented.
