National Sales Manager

Attention all cycling enthusiasts

A fantastic career opportunity exists with a leading cycle distributor in Cape Town. Our client seeks to appoint an individual with a strong sales management profile and an absolute passion for cycling and/or MTB Your broad knowledge on various cycle brands including specialized cycles and market trends will add great value to this role.

As the National Sales Manager, you will develop, implement and deliver the company’s strategic sales plan in order to achieve and exceed targets. You will use your creativity and thorough experience of sales and marketing processes to provide innovative ideas for business growth. You will be accountable for the overall performance, growth and expansion of all product portfolios within the Group.
- Requirements and Experience:_

v A Degree in Business, Advertising, Marketing, Economics or similar relevant field would be advantageous.

*5+ years experience in a strategic sales management role.
- Proven record of developing and implementing sales strategies that sustainably grow market share, sales and increase profits.
- Experience in leading and developing a sales and marketing team.
- Key Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:_
- Knowledge of the cycling industry would be highly favoured
- Possesses sound knowledge of economics and how current market trends influence sales
- Provide strong leadership support, guidance and motivation to the sales and marketing teams
- Understanding of merchandise, planning, stock control and supply chain
- A clear understanding of brands and the market mix
- Exceptional negotiation and persuasive skills
- Possess a high level of emotional maturity
- Demonstrate effective oral, written and listening communication skills
- Strategic thinker and able to set a vision and long terms goals
- Ability to use logical and/or systematic approach to solve problems by analysing information to make decisions
- Develop, negotiate ad communicate business initiatives and strategies across all levels within the business and with international partners
- Ability to network and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and get their buy-in and commitment
- Ability to work under pressure and still produce positive results
- Possess effective presentations skills
- Advanced MS Office Suite ability
- **Key Performance Areas**:_
- **Strategic, Commercial and Financial Management**:_
- Formulate and implement the strategic plan in order to maximise sales and profit per brand and product portfolio
- Develop commercial and pricing strategies to meet sales and profit objectives and manage customer relationships
- Grow market share through the constant search for opportunities in the market, acquisition of new customers and the maximization of their spend
- Monitor and analyse performance metrics and suggest improvements
- Ensure year on year growth in sales across wholesale, retail and ecommerce
- Closely monitor operating and financial results against approved plans and budget
- Compile and manage the Sales Budget and monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts
- **Customer Relationship Management and Optimisation**:_
- Negotiate terms and close agreements with customers
- Drive increased customer confidence and expand range opportunities within existing customer base
- Ensure effective planning and execution of all communication channels to the customer
- **Operations, Marketing and Team Management**_
- Implement and manage operational processes and procedures that reflect the company’s vision, standards and customer commitment consistently
- Coach and mentor the Sales Team and ensure achievement of all sales measures
- Provide strategic marketing oversight
- Work closely with Marketing and Product teams to ensure overall brand consistently
- Stay up to date with product ranges and ensure the sales teams are well informed and equipped

**Salary**: R1.00 - R2.00 per month
