Industrial JSE Listed Group acquired this smallish and highly profitable family business several years ago and has small Branches in Cape Town and Durban. It imports its specialised products from Asia and Europe which it distributes and sells throughout South Africa including design, installations as well as regular service requirements to their customer base. Over the years the Company has built up a customer-centric, solutions driven and highly competitive business in their niche industry. Their Technical Team is supported by their Suppliers overseas in all areas of installations and complexities that may arise from time to time. The Managing Director will be responsible for the overall profitability of the Company and oversee the business operations of their Corporate Head Office and Branches. He/she will provide strategic leadership with a strong focus on business development which includes driving sales and marketing. MANCO consists of Divisional Executive (whom the MD reports to), Sales Manager and Financial Manager.

Key performance areas, inter alia, include:

- Develop & execute business strategies which includes reporting to the Board and providing market insights as well as business initiatives.
- Drive sales growth into multiple market segments as well as developing & implementing business plans to improve cost efficiency and support the business strategy.
- Client/Customer liaison especially in promoting and driving sales including negotiation at the very highest level within the Client Company and via the market channels. This also covers sales and marketing strategy development & implementation as well as updating competitor intelligence and market trends.
- Oversee the entire Companys business operations and financial performance. This will include supervising, guiding and delegating to the Managers in their specific areas of responsibility.
- Ensure Company policies and legal guidelines are clearly adhered to and where necessary amended and formulated in terms of Group policy.

**Requirements**:

- Degree or Diploma in business, marketing or related field and a proven track record as MD or similar executive role from a small to medium sized business (or Division/Subsidiary of a large Group).
- Proven leadership skills especially in respect of the business leadership role as well as the sales leadership role which this listed Group always requires in their most senior executive position.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills as well as in-depth financial & commercial/business acumen. Knowledge of the African market is advantageous but not a pre-requisite.
