Main Purpose of the Position:
The HR Administrator will be working with the HRBP and Recruitment Officer to achieve business results. The incumbent will be responsible for the HR function within the HR department and further to this they will provide a positive HR service experience for applicants, employees and collaborate with departments to support, and retain diverse and talented employees who are the key to the Bedding Division’s success.

Key Responsibility Areas:
Payroll Administration

Ensure that all wages and salaries input is received by deadline.

All monthly and salaried input is submitted to payroll as and when movements, changes, new starters, and terminations arise.

Advise Management of leave accumulation and excessive sick leave issues.

Ensure all Provident Fund and Medical Aid administration is processed and filed.

Ensure that employees have been informed on an annual basis of changes to Medical or Retirement benefits.

Personnel Administration

Hand out starter packs and contracts and ensure that payroll information is captured and collated for wage and monthly employees and sent to Payroll.

Create personnel files and save all necessary documents.

Capture disciplinary information onto VIP and save in personnel files.

Complete all termination documentation.

General HR Assistance

Handle staff queries

Assist HR Business Partners with performance management system

Assist HR Business Partners with talent plans, personal development plans and succession plans

Sorting out and maintaining the Virtual Drives

Assist with new employee inductions

Relieve HR Business Partners whilst they are on leave

Send telegrams to absconded employees and assist with absconsion process

Assist HR Business Partners with probation process

Assist HR Business Partners with poor performance process

Effective teamwork and self-management

Continually drive best-in-class solutions and practices

Stay relevant and up-to-date (with legislation, new developments, etc.)

Take ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and demonstrate effective self-management and follow-through with agreed deadlines

Demonstrate a strong excellence / quality orientation

Maintain a positive attitude and respond openly to feedback

Manage colleagues and client’s expectations and communicate appropriately

Manage own disruptive emotions (handle stress in ways that do not negatively impact others)

Participate in the ongoing trainings and attend courses to stay to abreast with international developments.

Be keen to participate in seminars or any conferences in line with prescribed scope of work.

Experience and competencies required

Human Resource or related Degree

Minimum 2 Years’ Experience as an HR Administrator within the Retail Industry

SAGE experience is compulsory

Intermediate Computer Literacy essential
