Client Intake and Conflicts Coordinator

We are looking for a Client Intake and Conflicts Coordinator to join our highly regarded team. The individual will assist in providing an efficient and effective service to the Partners.
Risk and Compliance is responsible for the intake process that is, the registration of incoming new clients and new matters across all South African offices. The department assists Partners in complying with ethical and legal duties to avoid conflicts of interest.
**New Business Intake**
- Assists in all aspects of new business intake for the assigned client
- Inputs the data and documentation gathered during the intake process into the Conflicts database
- Reviews data for accuracy
**Conflicts**
- Runs complete and well documented conflict checks for new matters for the assigned client in accordance with firm guidelines
- Prepares reports and summarizes research results
- Assists in all administrative tasks related to the conflicts process
**Opening and Closing of Matters/Files**
- Opens new matters in the time and billing system
- Informs secretary and attorney of the new matter number
- Closes out matters in the time and billing system as required
- Handles routine re-open matter requests as well as re-open requests resulting from annual matter sweeps
**Lateral attorney and potential merger reviews**
- Runs reports on client lists for potential lateral hires
- Runs reports on client lists for potential office mergers
- Assists with the opening of new matters for lateral hires
**Departing attorneys**
- Creates client/matter lists as needed
- Assists with the file transfer process
**Requirements**:
A relevant degree and creditable prior work experience
Proficient in the Microsoft Suite and ELITE
Proven analytical skills and the ability to analyse and organise information
Detail oriented
Advanced data capturing skills
Works well under pressure to meet deadlines
Prior experience in a law firm is preferred
