Principal Professional Officer - Metropolitan Spatial

Planning And Urban Growth

**Requirements**:

- Masters degree in urban and regional planning (preferred) or

equivalent qualification
- Minimum eight (8) years’ experience on appropriate level, in

integrated and transversal planning on metropolitan to local

planning level
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in urban growth policy

development, research and tool development, as well as project

and programme management
- Proven experience in completed large stakeholder management

processes in private and public sector
- Proven experience in managing complex projects
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail
- Proven proficiency in interpreting statistics
- Government and private sector property development, land use

policy and urbanisation modelling
- Computer proficiency (MS Office (Excel Advanced), GIS, and SAP)
- Knowledge of government and other sector policies and strategies
- Applied knowledge in one or more of the following areas will be

**advantageous**: the space economy, urban growth modelling and

management, spatial analytical tools and methodologies
- Registration with the South African Council for Planners (SACPLAN).
