Principal Professional Officer - Metropolitan Spatial

Planning And Urban Growth

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in urban and regional planning (preferred) or
equivalent qualification

  • Minimum eight (8) years' experience on appropriate level, in
integrated and transversal planning on metropolitan to local

planning level

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in urban growth policy
development, research and tool development, as well as project

and programme management

  • Proven experience in completed large stakeholder management
processes in private and public sector

  • Proven experience in managing complex projects
  • Excellent problemsolving skills, attention to detail
  • Proven proficiency in interpreting statistics
  • Government and private sector property development, land use
policy and urbanisation modelling

  • Computer proficiency (MS Office (Excel Advanced), GIS, and SAP)
  • Knowledge of government and other sector policies and strategies
  • Applied knowledge in one or more of the following areas will be

advantageous:
the space economy, urban growth modelling and

management, spatial analytical tools and methodologies

  • Registration with the South African Council for Planners (SACPLAN).
