Principal Professional Officer
- Policy

**Requirements**:

- A relevant post-graduate degree (Master’s degree is

advantageous)
- Six (6) to eight (8) or more years relevant experience

Key Performance Areas
- Responsible for continuous improvement of the City's policy process

in support of efficient and effective policy development
- Maintain oversight of the entire policy pipeline, working across all

portfolios to ensure that high priority policy items progress effectively

through the policy pipeline
- Coordinate resources within the Policy branch to ensure the

progression of policy items through the policy pipeline
- Maintain a portfolio of policy instruments for development
- Develop policy training materials for the capacitation of relevant

officials across the City’s departments to draft and progress policy

instruments through the policy process
- Develop a visual tracking tool for policy instruments
- Engage transversally on policy issues with key internal and external

stakeholders
- Problem solve complex policy issues with stakeholders
- Meet with the City’s political leadership regularly to discuss policy

priorities and policy development
- Provide policy support, advice and counsel to the City’s political

and executive leadership
- Perform functions in an acting capacity
