Therefore, ALJ is in search of a Key Account Manager based in Cape Town. The incumbent of this position will be responsible for growing and developing our insurance portfolio in Cape Town by prospecting and canvassing for new business to drive growth within the Short-Term Commercial & Personal Lines Insurance Sector.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Business Development - Grow the sales of insurance products and achieve set sales targets via cold-calling, social media, referrals, face-to-face marketing etc.
- Develop relationships with potential clientele & our partners and drive innovative solutions that will lead to growth opportunities within existing clients.
- Become an industry and product expert across the top 15 short-term insurers of South Africa - Create strategic business partnerships with a panel of intermediaries to enable sales and meet and exceed sales targets.
- Handle objections by clarifying, emphasising agreements, and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
- Own the delivery of revenue, growth, and retention targets for key accounts & participate in forecasting activities.
- Using insights from data analytics and client needs, give input into bespoke value propositions, thought leadership and offerings for key clients.

Technical Expertise:

- In-depth knowledge of Short-term Insurance Industry. Knowledge of all product offerings, structures, and benefits across the value chain.
- High degree of business acumen and/or industry experience.
- Ability to provide advisory support at all levels.
- Systematically analysing and reporting of new business results, pipeline management together with actionable initiatives.
- Development of marketing strategies - Analysing market trends, ability to convert sales, ability to see an opportunity and present it to the client.

- Qualifications & Experience:

- Completed Matric or National Senior Certificate
- 4+ Years within the Financial Services Industry
- 4+ Years sales experience. With specific experience in lead generation, cold calling, relationship management and opening doors.
- FAIS credits/Full Insurance Qualifications (depending on DOFA)
- RE5 Accreditation (preferred)

**Requirements**:

- Own laptop & stable Wi-Fi connection.
- Must have your own reliable vehicle with uninterrupted access to the vehicle.
- Valid code B driver’s licence.
