- Our client a well-known OEM urgently requires a Head of Marketing, based at their Head Office in Centurion.**TO START IMMEDIATELY or as soon as possible**.**Summary**
- This Head of Marketing vacancy is a senior leadership role. The key expectation from the role is to provide vison and direction for achieving the desired objectives in South Africa. The person should be able to provide strategic and tactical marketing (market penetration, segmentation, and commercialization and launches) to enhance brand equity, the OEM and its products. This individual must be a thought leader who performs independently and has demonstrated the ability to effectively interact and influence all levels of organizations (brands Dealers and Customer) including the CEO and other DHs of the company. This individual will collaborate with the business development and commercial sales teams and will interact globally.**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
- **Innovation and Profitable Growth**: Drives profitable growth in key market segments. Directs market development programs for new markets and/or the penetration of existing markets. Conducts market research and analysis to track future marketplace trends, customer needs, competitive data, as well as product / service performance and acceptability. Owns key linkage between customer, business, and products.
- **Key Marketing Processes**: Ensures creation, deployment and use of decision process, situational analysis & marketing planning.
- **Strategic Planning**: Supports development of the strategic plan, annual operating plan, and marketing communications plan. Implements the strategic marketing direction with plans to address industry trends, competitive positions, and specialization strategy.
- **Market and Competitive Intelligence**: Drives measurement and tracking of market trends and competitive activities including market size, market share, and competitive strengths and weaknesses. Attends various trade / organization functions to develop business contacts and gather market information.
- **Marketing Communications**: Creates marketing-oriented sales tools, literature, press releases, advertising, brand awareness, trade shows, etc. Develops and coordinates product promotion, technical presentations, and advertising / digital campaigns through Corporate Marketing Communications. Responsible for communicating marketing activities to sales team, customer service, partners, and other functional areas to ensure smooth transition of strategy to action.
- **Market Segmentation and Value Proposition**:Conducts market / customer segmentation. Creates value proposition for the various segments focusing on the customer and ensuring product and positioning / message consistency.
- **Business and Pricing Practices**: Implements market segment value-based pricing and profitability targets.

**Deliverables actions**:
- Craft, implement and monitor strategies for all Marketing agencies, including Digital, Advertising, Communications (PR) and Creative
- To track the brand equity through independent agency to understand” Brand” in a nutshell from the customer perspective. This shall help to improve/modify the brand communication to the market to achieve the desired brand positioning.
- To improve volumes and market share of the brand by organizing BTL/ATL activities This leads to creation of brand awareness, walk-ins and highlights product advantages.
- New variants development by understanding the competitor product analysis, competition tracking and market analysis. These activities lead to the understanding of “GAP” existing in the market. Product Variants are developed to tap/exploit the GAP in the market.
- Design branding, positioning, and pricing strategies: Marketing readiness for new products by ensuring brand positioning, communication & pricing strategy in place to achieve timely launch.
- Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets for the Marketing department.
- Set, monitor, and report on team goals. Guiding the day-to-day activities of the marketing team. Ensuring that the marketing objectives are implemented by the marketing team.
- Analyse consumer behaviour and determine customer personas. Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends.
- Identify opportunities to reach new market segments and expand market share.
- Monitor competition (acquisitions, pricing changes and new products and features)
- Coordinate sales and marketing efforts to boost brand awareness.
- Participate in the quarterly and annual planning of company objectives.
