The purpose of this role is to support the Director and Legal team in managing the diary, tasks, and reminders. This includes managing the submitted and non-submitted portfolios to ensure the submission and settlement of matters in the shortest possible time, including but not limited to driving litigation and providing administrative support in the drafting of wills and administration of deceased estates.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Litigation & Curator Applications: The litigation process is managed according to the rules of the court. Litigation could include any of the following actions depending on the matter;
- Advocates are briefed,
- Drafting of summons,
- Memo to Assessors to ensure the serving of summons on the RAF,
- Ensuring the pleadings are closed and being sure to diarise according to the timeframes of the rules of the court,
- Filing of all the relevant notices;
- Preparation to get a matter pre-trial ready;
- Indexing, paginating and filing of court documents;
- Drafting and filing of filing notice;
- Corresponding with the Registrar of the Court RE pre-trial date etc.;
- Preparing to get a matter trial ready and ensuring the indexing, paginating and filing is done (either self or by Correspondent Attorneys);
- Any other ad hoc litigation process that requires administrative attention, follow-ups and correspondence.

2. Medico-legal Appointments/\Reports and Settlements
- All specialist appointment dates are diarised and followed up on to obtain all the necessary Medico-legal reports.
- Reports are sent to the Director for approval and further instructions.
- Instructions that need to be acted on could include; instructions to the actuary, requests for amendments of Medico-legal reports, or further appointments.
- After instructions, all documents are included in the combined settlement list.
- **The combined settlement list** is managed continuously with diligence and attention to detail, including but not limited to identifying claims handler at the RAF and link number, merits, past medical expenses, whether summons has been served or advocate has been briefed, and general damages. The status is clearly indicated with a comment on each matter and followed up on and updated accordingly.

3. Administrative Tasks, and Communication
- Communication with all stakeholders at all levels;
- Saving and printing of written communication where necessary;
- Diarising and rescheduling of appointments for Director;
- Answering of telephone calls and taking messages where Director cannot attend to calls;
- Answering of WhatsApp messages and queries on Business Tablet as well as telephonic queries from clients. Knowing when to escalate queries of clients to Director.
- Communicating with the Director as soon as a problem/issue arises which warrant her attention.

MUST HAVES:

- **Experience as a Personal Assistant/ Legal Secretary working with the Road Accident Fund, specifically the litigation process, claims process, and submitted
- and non-submitted portfolio where a PA would generally be involved in.**:

- Knowledge of providing support in the administration of deceased estates and the drafting of Wills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in Afrikaans and English.

- Good knowledge of keeping data secure, organised and up to date at all times

Pay: R20 000,00 - R25 000,00 per month
