Our client, a leading supplier of Industrial Equipment, is looking for a Regional Sales Manager, based in Germiston, JHB.

The successful candidate will report to the Branch Manager and will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of sales growth strategies within an assigned territory to ensure effectiveness of the sales force in achievement of sales targets, growth, and profitability of key accounts whilst driving and monitoring strong customer relationships, understanding of customer trends, and ensuring consistent delivery of excellent customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Monitor and assist sales staff in the achievement of their sales and growth targets.
  2. Ensure achievement of GP margin.
  3. Increase turnover of existing customers.
  4. Increase turnover from new business.
  5. Increase turnover from new product sales.
  6. Ensure new business is targeted, dormant accounts reactivated, and increased product sales to existing customers.
  7. Manage the frequency and cost-effectiveness of the call cycles of sales representatives.
  8. Manage a structured sales process to ensure quality of calling.
  9. Track the usage of the tools provided to Sales Reps in training.
  10. Track segmentation of high priority and low priority customers.
  11. Increase usage of company Online / App.
  12. Resolve complaints and queries effectively.
  13. Monitor turnaround of Customer's factory lead times and expectations where required.
  14. Determine and manage the Customer's expectations regarding stock and delivery.
  15. Ensure sales staff adhere to planned visits and understand the needs and objectives of all customers.
  16. Establish and build customer relationships and take personal ownership of resolving complaints.
  17. Manage head counts within agreed budgets.
  18. Achieve Employment Equity targets.
  19. Maintain effective leave planning and absenteeism management.
  20. Facilitate training and development interventions.
  21. Review performance in discussion with employees, agree ratings, and set goals for new period.
  22. Continuously communicate and provide constructive feedback and coaching to employees.
  23. Take disciplinary action where required.
  24. Develop expert product knowledge on the company's product range.
Education and Experience:
  1. Grade 12.
  2. Post matric qualification preferably in Sales / Marketing.
  3. 5 years Sales Management experience (PPE, Cleaning, and Paper experience is advantageous).
Knowledge and Skills:
  1. Good communication skills.
  2. Strong operational skills in a sales environment.
  3. Leadership and coaching skills.
  4. Ability to build trust and customer loyalty.
  5. Planning and organisational skills.
  6. Understanding of sales cycle and key account management.
  7. Good business acumen (i.e., numeracy skills, generation of profit and loss, cash flow, margin).
