Position Overview:


As a Senior Support Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in managing and improving the tutor support function at IBTC.

Your primary role is to manage cohorts of students, which require you to hand-hold students closely, monitor and manage them on their academic journey, monitor deliverables, do client reporting and invoicing.

You are also required to respond to tutor queries yourself and co-ordinate responses and co-ordinate response and turn-around times to other tutors.

Your ultimate deliverable is to ensure high quality, fast tutoring support to students and fostering a positive learning environment.

A finance degree is essential for this position, and possessing a CIMA management level qualification would be advantageous.
You will have no staff reporting to you.

Key Responsibilities:

Tutor Support Management:

  • Manage and improve the tutor support function and ensure timely and effective assistance is provided to students.
  • Collaborate with academic staff and tutors to develop support strategies for student cohorts.

Student Support:

  • Provide academic support to students on a oneonone or group basis.
  • Assess students' academic needs, identify areas of improvement, and develop tailored action plans.

Academic Assistance:

Progress Monitoring:

  • Track the academic progress of student cohorts and identify those who may require additional support.
  • Work closely with tutors to monitor the progress of individual students and implement necessary interventions.

Resource Development:

  • Create and maintain support resources such as study guides, reference materials, and online resources.
  • Recommend and develop innovative approaches to enhance the support process.

Communication and reporting:

  • Maintain regular communication with students, tutors, academic staff and clients to ensure seamless support services.
  • Provide timely feedback to students, academic staff and clients on their academic progress and areas for improvement.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field is required.
  • CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) management level qualification would be advantageous.
  • Proven experience in providing academic support and assistance, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong admin skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students and academic staff effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Empathetic and patient approach when dealing with students' academic challenges.
  • Proficient in using technology and educational tools to facilitate learning and support.
  • Applicant must have a valid driver's license and their own car

Salary:
R18, R22,000.00 per month
