Methys Group is looking for a Copywriter and Digital Marketing Specialist to join our team based in Century City, Western Cape, South Africa.


Responsibilities

  • Creating and executing content strategy for all the Methys group entities: daily social media, weekly newsletters, weekly blogs, weekly podcasts, and regular press releases
  • Manage social media and web channels to amplify content
  • Creating content for all AfricArena's digital platforms: website, startup portal, AfricArena Wired mobile app (articles, podcasts, weekly Wired newsletters)
  • Using the designated Brand Guidelines designing all materials used for communication, and overall brand auditing and ensuring consistency across all communication channels.
  • Liaising with media on distributing content such as press releases
  • Playing a key role in authoring qualitative research reports on tech innovation and investment trends in the African ecosystem

Profile

  • Graduated with a Bachelor degree
  • 5 years of proven experience in writing copy for digital and non digital
  • A successful experience in a similar role in a media, agency or content intensive startup is a must, with a preference with exposure to the technology sector
  • Excellent copy writing skills
  • Great interpersonal, presentation and communication skill
  • Proficient in the use of CRMs (MailChimp preferred, but any other credible platforms are considered)
  • Very comfortable in updating web and app content through CMS platforms
  • Experience in qualitative research.
  • Autonomous, organised and ability to manage several parallel projects.
  • Passionate about storytelling, community building, networking
