WATER AND SANITATION Senior Process Operator

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 preferably with Mathematics and Physical Science as a
  • Min 12 years' relevant experience (preferably water treatment
plant/reservoir)

  • Required to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Must be of sound health and physical fitness to perform manual
labour tasks

  • A valid Code EB driver's license with PrDP will be advantageous
  • May be required to perform shift duties, work overtime and work in
all weather conditions

Key Performance Areas

  • Conducting visual inspections
  • Checking and recording readings (manual/electronic)
  • Taking various measurements on sites
  • Adjusting mechanical control setting of equipment
  • Taking laboratory samples for analyzing by Scientific Services
  • Opening/closing of valves to control levels and regulate flow
to/from

storage units

  • Performing chlorine residuals and other tests and analysis
  • Adjusting process equipment by using handheld tools
  • Performing diverse housekeeping, cleaning and process
equipment

maintenance duties including part time driving duties for shift

rotation

  • Monitoring chemical stock levels and carrying out chlorine
disinfection to ensure continuous chlorine supply

  • Handling process sludge/residues
