As the Debtors Supervisor, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely delivery of documents to clients with all necessary supporting materials.
  • Allocate payments promptly and monitor the weekly age analysis closely.
  • Supervise the team to ensure strict adherence to processes and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external clients, maintaining strong relationships.
  • Participate in client meetings and conduct regular discussions with clients, CGM, Debtors Controller, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure clients make payments as per the agreed terms.
  • Resolve queries within a 24-hour timeframe.
  • Oversee and evaluate team performance, including developing improvement plans for team members who are underperforming.
  • Participate in recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes for new team members.
  • Ensure timely submission of staff forms to Payroll and HR departments.
  • Provide comprehensive training and mentorship to staff, delegate tasks efficiently, and offer guidance when needed.
  • Enforce adherence to the Code of Conduct and company policies among staff members.
  • Work on cost reduction strategies and facilitate smooth transitions during staff absences.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and team gatherings to address any arising issues.
  • Maintain an organized workspace and manage 'Out of Office' notifications effectively.
  • Redirect emails as required and ensure that staff members are fulfilling their job responsibilities.
  • Cultivate a positive work environment and perform quality checks on client documents.
  • Review client card statements bi-monthly for any anomalies and reconcile monthly Open Item accounts.
  • Ensure proper filing and storage of TTS records, along with manual processing of reversals and declined transactions.
  • Process Debtors Journals promptly and maintain zero outstanding amounts on Credit Card accounts in the age analysis by month-end.
  • Prevent financial penalties and educate new clients on the implications of late payments.
  • Assist the manager with assigned tasks and promptly report any irregularities.
  • Support team members when required and handle fraud communications and disputes within a 30-day timeframe.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all processes and maintain effective controls while proactively identifying risks.
  • Provide feedback to management and ensure the controllers are effectively managing their accounts.
  • Drive efficient cash collection and enhance client satisfaction by upholding the company's processes and procedures.

Job Experience and Skills Required:


Hold a Bcom degree in accounting or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a supervisory role.
