MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS

SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF JOB
In this role you'll spend a lot of time analyzing trends in the hotel industry.

In short, you'll be tracking the bedroom and conference space rates offered by your competitors, and making sure you sell your own rooms at the right price and the right time to the right people.

You'll also need to maintain parity with room rates offered by online booking companies and be poised to spot peaks and troughs in the market.

Implement Revenue management processes in order to maximize revenue.

Collect the necessary information to establish a database of bookings and events on which the hotel strategy and forecast will be based.


SPECIFIC DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

Key Indicators of Success:

  • Analyzing booking patterns and market trends
  • Monitoring competitor performance
  • Effective yield management
  • Initiating promotions to generate business at key times
  • Forecasting revenue performance
  • Liaising with the sales team, reception and the general manager

  • Able to develop relationships with 3rd parties and the hotel teams.
  • Capacity to read situations and respond accordingly.
  • To ensure that all target market segments are developed for the longterm benefit of the hotel's business.
  • To monitor in statistical format, the pickup patterns, lead times and business trends.
  • To work with the team to promote internal sales and the up selling of all facilities.
  • To ensure that the Daily Selling Strategy is completed and checked before the morning meeting.
  • To be fully involved in the production of the business mix reports for the weekly rooms meeting, the monthly business meeting and the annual budgeting meetings.
  • Carry out regular Departmental meetings with your team to discuss and resolve any issues that may arise.

Environmental and Social Responsibility

  • Reduce the use of paper by not printing unnecessarily and recycle used paper.
  • Serve on the waste management committee
  • Participate and actively control all forms of waste and ensure accurate recycling of all glass, papers, plastic, and aluminum and steel form all areas to waste.
  • Participate on the food waste program of Hotel Verde.
  • Assist with power and electricity usage by not having lights or any electrical appliance on that could be switched off not in use.
  • Assist with monitoring waste management and pest control within the hotel and back of house areas.
