Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage reservations operations, working closely with the sales team, Lodge staff, and other departments to ensure efficient and accurate bookings and reservations.
  • Drive Groups and Touring to achieve business and department goals and revenue targets.
  • Monitor rates online and in opera and report any discrepancies to the Revenue Manager.

  • Monitor activities regarding billing instructions and compliance with Company credit policies.
  • Attend Revenue meetings and implement strategies with the reservations team.
  • Continuously endeavour to improve the department's efficient operation.
  • Manage tentative and confirmed reservations in the system and allocate the applicable room types.
  • Monitor and manage outstanding payments, accounts, refunds, credits and attend Finance meetings and provide the team with feedback.
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly pickup reports where necessary.
  • Prepare weekly revenue and pace report during the absence of the Revenue Manager.
  • Drive Weekly Conversion, Ensure Targets are met in accordance with budget and forecast for Group and Touring conversions.
  • Making reservations and prepare rate proposals and follow up on the business to ensure revenue.
  • Ensure accurate & detailed capturing of reservations.
  • Provide support and guidance to the Reservations and Touring team.
  • Quoting, managing and making tour operating bookings including flights, transfers, restaurant reservation, as well as accommodation bookings.
  • Provide daily, weekly and monthly reports where required by the Director of Sales and Marketing.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree from a reputable hotel school preferred
  • Extensive hospitality reservations experience as well as excellent HMS PMS knowledge.
  • Good communication skills and team orientation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of revenue management.
  • Sound knowledge of Botswana and Southern Africa, understanding travel logistics and an ability to created tailored itineraries. Be a back up to Lodge and touring consultants in their absence.
