Our client is looking for a Health and Safety Manager to join their team in Johannesburg

Roles and ResponsibilitiesMin Qualifications required:
School- Mandatory Grade 12 Tertiary
Mandatory Safety Diploma/ Degree (SAMTRAC)
Professional Bodies European National Standard 1004 IWH Professional Body SACPCMP
The South African Council for Project and Construction Management Professions
MBA- Masters Building Association\ Experience; 5 year experience in construction and health and safety

Duties
Implements the Health and Safety Framework Ensure the organization is compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements.
Ensure training interventions are planned and organised. Undertake health and safety inspections (internal and external) across all sites, collating and reviewing hazards and risks. Arrange adequate First Aid across sites.
Respond to and conduct incident investigations for hazards, near misses, injuries, illness and emergencies.
Work with managers and employees to facilitate their understanding of, and adherence to HSE policies and procedures.
Develop communication tools to handle topical events or issues and disseminate information to employees.
Monitor compliance training for First Aiders and Fire Wardens and other health and safety training as required.
Attend workshops regarding regulations and procedures. Dealing with Department of Labour Audits.
Ensure that company is constantly compliant.
Ensure that all training schedules are kept up to date. Ensure Audit reports and results of compliance submitted to management monthly.
Ensure that photo reports are submitted monthly.

Facilitate the review and response to various required reports, ensuring they are addressed in a timely way and responded to within 7 days of submission date.

Provide the Communications team with updates on current Health, Safety, and Environment developments in consultation with the Senior HSEQ Advisor.

Undertake and assist in the development of Health & Safety initiatives.
Provide advice and assistance in the preparation of and the progression of reports to satisfactory conclusions for all parties. Review information contained in reports and use as a tool to identify improvement initiatives and non-conformance trends. Regularly review and maintain Safety Net resources.
Ensure all HSE documentation and internal resources are up to date and accurate.
Training matrix updated monthly and after training is conducted. Ensure Medical surveillance is done.
Creating safety files according to client specification. Writing of Audit Reports.
Communicating all policies and procedures to staff. Review all safety documents once a year.
Attending all site safety meetings and creating minutes of all meetings.
Submit all incident and accident investigation reports. Responsible for ordering of all stock/ safety equipment.
Drawing of the Evacuation plan Inspection, risk assessment and method statement to be done.
Ensuring blank templates/ safety documents daily.
Lead HSE committee meetings and consult with all committee members on incidents, controls, resources and legislation.
Ensure inspections are being completed as per rosters actions are being closes out in a timely manner.
Manage reports and incidents of the Safety Officers.
Identify and support the development of projects which will improve health and safety environment.
Ensure safety products are procured in a timely and costly manner.
