The primary responsibility is to ensure accurate and timely payment of payroll expenses and taxes. Supervising the dedicated payroll team and collaborating with professionals from various departments will be key aspects of your role. 

The Payroll Manager goal will be to maintain compliance, streamline payroll procedures for efficiency, and stay updated with current regulations and best practices. As our Payroll Manager, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the financial well-being of our organisation and ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time.  Facilitate business process re-engineering and improvements to payroll processes to improve control effectiveness and process efficiency.  Ensure employees are effectively managed and held accountable through performance and disciplinary procedures, and that staff are developed and mentored through the talent management and IDP processes. We are looking for an individual who is analytical, methodical, and experienced in payroll administration. A deep understanding of payroll regulations is crucial. Additionally, we value qualities such as integrity, team spirit, and strong organisational skills.

PRIMARY OUTPUTS

  • Continuously maintain and improve payroll processes and procedures.
  • Implement and manage the payroll systems.
  • Ensures monthly Third-Party Reconciliation payments and submission.
  • Ensures Annual Third-Party Reconciliations, payments, payroll reconciliation with annual and monthly tax payment, submissions and recons
  • Ensuring the full reconciliation of the payroll prior to rolling over to the new month
  • Monthly EMP201 reconciliation and submission aa well as Annual EMP501 reconciliation and submission
  • Effective self-management and performance ownership
  • Achievement of a team environment that enables maximum productivity and profitability (includes management of Human Resources value chain)
  • Track record in leading / managing people in a team based and participative environment (experience in managing a service operation advantageous)
  • Sound business and financial acumen.
  • Scheduling of Monthly and Annual Payroll Calendar
  • Exposure to business planning / budgeting processes
  • Ensuring the efficient, accurate and timely payment, and query resolution for all areas of responsibility
  • Ensure that all salaries are paid accurately and on time.
  • Remuneration data to be communicated and processed accurately and within defined deadlines on payroll system.

  • Maintain and ensure 100% data integrity on all master and remuneration information.
  • Limit payroll debt by communicating deadlines to all key stakeholders that provide input to the payroll for payment of employees, to ensure timeous notification of possible risk factors that may lead to incorrect payments.

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

 Minimum Required Qualification:

  • Payroll Diploma or relevant qualification
  • 10 Years' experience in a payroll/Human Resources management position, of which at least not less than 5 years must be in a managerial role
  • Advanced Payroll Tax knowledge and experience
  • Solid financial acumen
  • Experience in dealing with Expats Payroll
  • SAP and Payspace payroll experience and understanding.
  • In- depth working knowledge of relevant tax legislation, employment conditions and Bargaining councils.

Minimum Required Experience:

  • Extensive well developed people management skills
  • Tertiary education an advantage
  • Good accounts knowledge and experience
  • Sound knowledge of Tax (PAYE) legislation
  • Sound knowledge of the BCEA legislation
  • Sound Human Resources and Industrial Relations skills
  • Sound business communication and presentation skills
  • Sound Microsoft Office knowledge
