Group HR Manager required for a reputable construction company based in East London 

The Group HR Manager will be a key leader, responsible for overseeing and coordinating HR functions across multiple locations or business units. This strategic role requires a seasoned professional with a mature approach to human resources management. The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience in a similar role, combined with strong leadership and a deep understanding of HR practices in both local and multinational contexts.

Requirements:

  • 8 years + experience fulfilling a senior HR related role ESSENTIAL 
  • 3 years + experience fulfilling an HR related role within the construction industry ESSENTIAL 
  • A strong personality with the ability to take control and guide the HR function across South Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Thinking: Align HR strategies with overall business objectives and drive organizational change effectively.

  2. Leadership Skills: Provide strong leadership to manage and guide HR teams across various locations or units, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

  3. Communication: Demonstrate excellent communication skills to interact effectively with employees, executives, and other stakeholders.

  4. Decision-Making: Make informed, timely decisions, especially in high-pressure situations, to support HR and business goals.

  5. Interpersonal Skills: Build and maintain robust relationships across the organization, enhancing collaboration and team cohesion.

  6. Cultural Awareness: Show understanding and sensitivity to diverse cultural practices, particularly in multinational environments, to foster an inclusive workplace.

  7. Problem-Solving: Employ strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve employee issues, conflicts, and HR challenges efficiently.

  8. Change Management: Manage and implement organizational change, particularly during periods of transition or growth, to ensure smooth HR operations.

  9. Compliance and Ethics: Ensure adherence to labor laws and ethical practices, maintaining a fair and legally compliant workplace.

  10. Analytical Skills: Analyze HR data and metrics to make data-driven decisions and continuously improve HR processes and outcomes.

  11. Project Management: Oversee HR projects, such as new system implementations or company-wide initiatives, ensuring successful execution and alignment with strategic goals.

  12. Employee Engagement: Focus on enhancing employee engagement, retention, and satisfaction throughout the organization.

  13. Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to evolving business environments and HR landscapes, staying ahead of industry trends and practices.
