Primary responsibilities:

  • Training Programme Co-Ordination (plan, design, promote and implement)
  • Source, plan, co-ordinate and implement learning/training programmes, aligned to company needs and employee development plans.
  • Collaborate with departments to identify skills gaps/training needs, ensuring targeted programme development. 
  • Refine and implement employee career paths and progression frameworks across the business.
  • Guide and support employees seeking development opportunities (70:20:10 learning principles).
  • Continuously engage with employees to facilitate career development discussions and development plans.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and growth by actively promoting learning resources and opportunities.
  • Liaise with external training providers and vendors to deliver specialised training programmes, as needed.
  • Ensure training programmes comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Onboarding and department-specific training enhancement.
  • Co-ordinate, lead and innovate the end-to-end onboarding process, acting as the main custodian for onboarding.
  • Evaluate and curate the existing onboarding programmes/materials.
  • Administer onboarding and integration surveys and facilitate one-on-one engagements with new joiners, establishing and coordinating measures to improve the onboarding experience.
  • Evaluate department-specific training materials, working closely with business to innovate.
  • Skills Development (Learnerships, internships, Bursaries and B-BBEE).
  • Collate data for Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report submissions.
  • Ensure that employee training expenditure is in line with B-BBEE requirements. 
  • Lead and coordinate the implementation of formal learnership/internship and bursary processes and structures, enabling the company to attract, develop engage and retain young talent.
  • Develop relationships and partnerships with external stakeholders to promote skills development/career development initiatives. 
  • Work closely with marketing to promote the company as an Employer of Choice externally and on social media platforms.
  • Reporting, analytics and administration
  • Establish KPIs and metrics to assess the effectiveness and impact of learning and growth initiatives.
  • Conduct regular evaluations and assessments of training programmes and learning outcomes; making the relevant improvements.
  • Generate reports on all learning and development activities, participation rates, and learning outcomes for management review.
  • Administer the learning management system as and when required.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a Learning and Development or training co-ordination role.
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Psychology, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, training methodologies and technologies.
  • Instructional design, accreditation, and facilitation – preferred. 
  • HR Compliance and regulatory knowledge (e.g., Labour Relations Act and Basic Conditions of Employment, etc.)
  • Learning and development tools and collaborative platforms (e.g. Udemy, LinkedIn Learning, Coursera, etc.)
  • Basic instructional design skills or experience in designing training materials, courses, or programmes.
  • Training delivery methods (blended learning approaches) and Learning needs analyses.
  • Familiarity with various technology tools and platforms used for virtual training, such as video conferencing software, webinar platforms, and online collaboration tools.
  • Training evaluation, feedback, and assessment.
  • Project Management and change management.
  • Data analysis and reporting.
  • Learning and Development trends, best practices, and innovations in the field of learning and development
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Emotionally intelligent, communicates with impact, collaborates effectively, innovates for value, digitally savvy and solutions-focused.
