Business Development Manager – Electrical and Cables

Location: East Rand

Salary: R – R CTC negotiable

Education & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical or related
  • Minimum 5 years of technical sales experience in the electrical/cable industry or related
  • Technical understanding of electrical infrastructure
  • EPC projects experience.
  • Ability to work with customers and partners on technical questions and solutions.
  • Ability to coordinate amongst multidisciplinary teams (both internally and externally)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, written and spoken.
  • Ability to work well in a matrix organisational structure.
  • Knowledge of project management will be advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop sales opportunities for electrical/cable solutions focusing on small to large power projects including solar photovoltaic and energy storage.
  • Provide guidance on different solutions
  • New business development.
  • Establish relationships with stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed and accurate project cost based on the technical bill of materials;
  • Develop clear scope definitions and limits of supply for proposals aligned to the project cost budget.
  • Develop sales with new and existing accounts in assigned areas
  • Develop competitive strategies to sales objectives and maintain knowledge of competitor activity.
  • Provide input on the business plan to ensure sales sustainability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationship with customers and influencers within the industry
  • Participate in contracts negotiations.
  • Keeping abreast with industry trends
