Technical Lead

About the Role

Playroll is looking for a Technical Lead to join the Engineering team to play a key role developing and deploying our apps and platform. You will report to Tim Richardson and you will act as squad lead. You will have experience as a senior Full Stack Developer, Tech Lead or Engineering Manager and you are passionate about software development and engineering You will be a hands-on leader of one of our product engineering squads dedicated to achieving one of our most important strategic aims: building the platform our newest product runs on

You Will:

• Play a key role developing and deploying our apps and platform.
• Act as a squad tech lead, guiding the direction of development and ensuring adherence to the highest coding, design, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with the squad's functional leads, e.g. product and design, and stakeholders to deliver the product roadmap, turning product requirements into scalable solutions that make a difference for our clients and users.
• Collaborate in the development of our architecture and play a leading role in technology choices and innovation.
• Optimize our development, test, release, and deployment processes, working with our quality and platform engineers.
• Mentor and manage a small number of junior developers and contribute to the development of our engineering culture.
• Continually seek out and share ways to improve our processes, platform, and culture.

Skills & Experience

You have:

• Experience as a Senior Fullstack Developer, Tech Lead or Engineering Manager, you are passionate about software development and engineering.
• You embrace a growth mindset, always.
• You are always looking to develop your technical knowledge and technical leadership skills.
• You consistently seek ways to improve products, processes and ways of working and continuously share what you learn with your team.
• Proficiency in our tech stack: Typescript, NextJS/React, AWS Lambda/Step Functions, Postgres/Dynamo, CDK,
• Playwright. Don't worry if you aren't expert in every technology listed - we want to find a person who will be a great fit for and add to our team.
• You thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven, growth-centric environment.
• Ability and confidence to challenge existing processes and ways of working and suggest improvements.
• Confident explaining ideas, solutions and achievements to technical and non-technical audiences, team members and stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset. Data-driven approach
