**Junior Night Shift Production Manager (FMCG)**

A Junior Night Shift Production Manager in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) industry in South Africa typically plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the production operations during the night shift.

**Qualifications**:

- Matric
- Any relevant qualification (Production management, Manufacturing, Operations Management etc.) will be an added advantage

**Experience**:

- Prior experience in a production or manufacturing role is essential
- Must have at least 2 years of relevant experience
- Experience working in the FMCG industry/manufacturing environment
- Experience in a management (or proven experience in a 2.I.C role)

**Other Requirements**:

- Must stay in close proximity of City Deep
- Must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable car
- Must be a non-smoker

**Skills**:

- Production Supervision: Supervising and leading a team of production workers during the night shift to ensure that production targets and schedules are met.
- Quality Control: Ensuring that products meet quality standards and conducting quality checks at various stages of production to maintain consistent product quality.
- Safety Compliance: Enforcing safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. Identifying and mitigating potential safety hazards.
- Production Planning: Collaborating with senior production managers or planners to create production schedules for the night shift, taking into account resource availability and demand.
- Equipment Maintenance: Monitoring the condition of production equipment and coordinating maintenance or repairs as needed to minimize downtime.
- Inventory Management: Keeping track of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory levels to ensure that production can continue without interruptions.
- Cost Control: Monitoring production costs and working to reduce wastage and improve production efficiency.
- Team Management: Managing and mentoring production staff, including training, performance evaluations, and addressing any personnel issues that may arise.
- Communication: Facilitating effective communication between the night shift team and other departments, such as logistics, quality control, and management.
- Reporting: Generating production reports and providing regular updates to senior management on night shift performance, including output, quality, and efficiency metrics.
- Problem Solving: Identifying and addressing production issues or bottlenecks as they arise, implementing solutions to improve overall production processes.
- Adherence to Regulations: Ensuring that the production operations adhere to all relevant industry regulations, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains and implementing best practices to enhance overall production performance.
- Shift Handover: Conducting smooth handovers between shifts, communicating critical information to the next shift's production manager or supervisor.
- Emergency Response: Being prepared to respond to any production emergencies or unforeseen events that may occur during the night shift.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and supervisory skills are critical for managing production teams effectively.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of production processes, machinery, and equipment used in the FMCG industry. Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance practices.

- Adaptability: The ability to adapt to the demands of working the night shift, which may include irregular hours and overnight shifts.

- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with industry regulations, compliance standards, and quality control requirements relevant to the FMCG sector.

**Working Hours**:

- 18:00 to 06:00 (6:00PM to 6:00AM)

**Salary**:

- R16 000 Monthly NEGOTIABLE

**Terms of Contract**
- Will start off as day shift for training purposes thereafter rotational between day shift and night shift
