**Business Development Director - Africa**

DT One is currently seeking a Business Development Director based in Johannesburg, South Africa with experience supporting a global company. Having a direct reporting line to EVP EMEA, this role will be responsible for driving new business growth across the region.

**Key Role Responsibilities**
- Responsible for developing the overall sales and business development plan to increase penetration of services and accelerating gross margin and volumes
- Developing sales strategies using your local market expertise to maximise go-to-market resources and execute against relevant opportunities
- Responsible for managing relationships to ensure buy in of stakeholders (MNOs, digital players, banks, aggregators, regulators, merchants)
- Hands on management of the end to end sales cycle, including lead generation, managing live accounts and working closely with C suites within digital, fintech, retail players to close deals
- Ensure excellent communication and internal coordination to roll-out new services taking into factors of market specificity (regulation, competition etc.)
- Full ownership of customer requests and exploring new opportunities to add value
- Attend trade shows, follow up on leads, follow up in sales process and increase the reputation of the company
- Ensure account retention, contractual health, well-being and maximum satisfaction of clients
- Manage key strategic projects involving government or public stakeholders, and contribute to the overall strategy of the company

**Essential Experience**
- More than 10 years' experience with proven experience in managing accounts (multi-million $) and delivering results
- Well connected to fintechs, digital players, banks, MNO's and experience negotiating at a C level
- Strong balance of both strategic planning and active hands on approach is a must. This will be a hands-on role with deep involvement in execution, leading from the front
- Must possess a can-do, entrepreneurial drive, focusing on solving problems creatively with a high level of energy in a fast paced, global, complex and geographically diverse company
- Strong organization skills, management of priorities and the ability to work under pressure
- Ability to influence and build credibility across all levels hence building collaborative relationships
- Excellent communication skills in English. Other languages will be an advantage
- Experienced in regional people management, team-oriented, able to communicate efficiently internally to ensure full buy-in
- Ability to travel
- Culturally adaptable, ability to work in different environments
- Proficient in CRM, Excel and PowerPoint
