**Introduction**:
To provide strategic leadership to the organization in conjunction with the Executive Committee by providing input into the Strategic Plan and Business Plan of the organization and directing the SHE Discipline. Ensuring SHEQ systems (policies, procedures, internal controls. audits etc.),Reporting, reviews. Analysis, budgeting, risks, governance, strategic and operational issues are executed correctly. Guiding the organization to zero harm

**Job description**:
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

- Ability to formulate and implement strategic and innovative solutions with an appreciation of operational implications in a complex, dynamic and high risk environment.
- Lead the implementation of the Company’s SHE strategy and related interventions so as to achieve the Company’s SHE objectives and targets, and continually improve its SHE performance
- Change management. Provide a SHE consulting and advisory service to the MRPIW Platform stakeholders.
- Compiling, collating, reporting on and strategically reacting to leading, lagging and associated SHE indicators

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement a SHE strategy for Murray & Roberts Power, Industrial and Water Platform, in line with Murray & Roberts Group strategy and industry best practice.
- Build the credibility and value of the SHE discipline across the Murray & Roberts Power and Water Platform.
- Maintain positive relations with other executives and functional members, both Head Office and Projects.
- Ensure HSE governance and legal compliance across the Murray & Roberts Power, Industrial and Water Platform.
- Prepare reports on the SHE strategy implementation and the Murray & Roberts Power, Industrial and Water Platform SHEQ performance.
- Co-ordinate and participate in accident and incident investigations into serious HSE incidents, such as disabling and fatal injuries.
- Maintenance / set-up / continual improvement experience of a Business-Wide Management System.
- Corrective Action and Preventive Action monitoring and rectification experience.
- Non Conformance Reporting management.
- Mentor / Review performance of SHE personnel.
- Input into recruitment of SHE personnel for Head Office and Projects.
- Man-hour estimating for SHE on projects for bids.
- Annual budgets and intermediate budgets control for quality function.
- Lead ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 annual certification for MRP

**Minimum requirements**:
EXPERIENCE:

- Minimum 15 years hands on experience in a multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM / Construction project environment, with at least 5 years in a senior SHE management equivalent role.
- Technical Skills — QA/QC as well as HSE is an advantage.
- ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 Certification Knowledge.
- Auditing Experience (Technical) — SHE, preferably certificated auditor.
- Proven knowledge and experience in implementation and interpretation of national HSE legislation and best practice.

QUALIFICATION:

- Technical Qualification, preferably a relevant Degree or Higher National Diploma in the engineering or sciences field.
- Relevant Professional Registration (SACPMP Safety Manager)
