Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability and Community Engagement Lead to join our Retail Finance department at our Head Office in Cape Town. This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the delivery of our corporate social responsibility strategy, ensuring positive community engagement and investment while adhering to compliance and regulatory requirements.

Main Purpose

To plan, co-coordinate, and manage the delivery of the Clicks CSI strategy, in line with group policy and objectives, while delivering positive community engagement and investment.

Responsibilities

  1. To develop and implement an effective CSI strategy aligned with the overall Clicks Group CSI goals, monitoring progress and providing accurate reporting.
  2. To manage all regulatory and compliance obligations required by Clicks Retailers when engaging with stakeholders related to corporate social responsibility initiatives.
  3. To identify and mitigate risks associated with the implementation of CSI initiatives that may result in financial and reputational risks.
  4. To prepare and manage the CSI budget in accordance with achieving deliverables aligned to the CSI strategy.
  5. To manage staff, contractors, and partners engaged in CSI initiatives and promote employee participation aligned to our values.
  6. To facilitate weekly status meetings with management team members and track actioning until completion.
  7. To collaborate with the Marketing Team to create brand awareness and gain support for Clicks CSI initiatives.
  8. To continuously review the effectiveness of CSI initiatives and identify potential new opportunities.
  9. To work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and the CSI Committee to achieve strategic pillars contained in the CSI Strategy.
  10. To build relationships internally and externally supporting the successful implementation of CSI initiatives and foster meaningful partnerships.
  11. To maintain accurate records of documentation pertaining to corporate social responsibility initiatives in support of compliance and ethical standards.

Requirements

Education: Degree or relevant qualification in Humanities, Social Sciences, Development Economics, or related field (e.g., CSI, Business, Sustainability).

Experience: At least 5 years of experience in Corporate Social Investment, sustainability, or related work industry; 3 years of experience in developing and managing CSI programs; 3 years of experience in developing and managing a Trust; 3 years' experience in stakeholder engagement and community relations; 2-3 years Public Relations experience.
