Financial Credit Supervisor (JB4631)

Location: Midrand, Gauteng

Salary: R R CTC per month

This position requires making informed credit assessments, fostering robust stakeholder relationships, and adapting to evolving market and regulatory landscapes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Business or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in SME lending.
  • Experience in supplementary SME support services is advantageous.
  • Strong credit evaluation skills and the ability to convey complex credit proposals effectively.
  • Proficiency in analyzing financial statements and understanding SME lending practices.
  • Familiarity with lending software is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Credit Evaluation and Loan Initiation:

  • Implement loan initiation strategies in collaboration with the lending team.
  • Promptly review and recommend credit applications within designated credit limits.
  • Provide independent and objective evaluations and recommendations on credit applications.
  • Ensure thorough due diligence and compliance with company policies prior to submitting loan applications for senior management review.
  • Draft clear and concise credit memoranda or communications to convey credit insights.
  • Work closely with Loan Officers to collect necessary information and ensure proper deal structuring.

Monitoring and Collections:

  • Oversee loans post-disbursement to ensure adherence to guidelines.
  • Manage and execute timely collection activities to mitigate bad debts.

Reporting:

  • Prepare regular reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual) on lending activities for senior management.
  • Generate reports for the Board and external stakeholders as necessary.

Policy Development and Enhancement:

  • Assist Loan Officers in maintaining client and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Address and resolve issues escalated by Loan Officers.
  • Contribute to the formulation and implementation of SME lending guidelines and policies.
  • Monitor market conditions and propose improvements to existing policies.
  • Evaluate regulatory impacts on current policies and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Support strategic initiatives and process improvement projects related to the business.
