Job Title: Financial Operations Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Manager to oversee and manage all General Ledger accounting functions, produce Financial Statements, and support the CFO by managing the accounting department.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full accounting function, including general ledger preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and audit preparation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting within strict deadlines.

Duties:

  • Supervise staff performance and provide guidance to ensure high-quality work.
  • Compile and review balance sheet and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage cash flow and approve payments to ensure efficient financial operations.
  • Authorize and sign cheques within mandate to ensure financial transactions are processed correctly.
  • Ensure quality in consolidated financial statements and management reports to provide stakeholders with accurate financial information.
  • Assist in board pack preparations to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Handle month and year-end journals, budgets, forecasts, and annual financial statements to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Prepare VAT, provisional tax, and income tax returns to ensure accurate and timely tax compliance.
  • Supervise administration and enforce discipline within the department to maintain a productive work environment.
  • Manage the Fixed Asset Register and daily integrations/reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Enhance system controls and processes to improve financial operations and reduce risk.
  • Handle ERP system issues and user queries to ensure efficient financial operations.
  • Approve credit applications to ensure financial stability and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • B Com Accounting / CIMA or equivalent (Articles essential) to ensure strong accounting knowledge and skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills to analyze and interpret financial data.
  • Minimum 5 years in a financial accounting role to ensure experience and expertise.
  • Acumatica and transport industry experience is a plus to demonstrate relevant skills and knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge of tax and accounting principles to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
