Job Overview
Skill Shed seeks an experienced Payroll Specialist to lead our payroll administration and maintenance efforts. As a key member of our team, you will oversee the entire payroll process, from employee onboarding to monthly reconciliation.

About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Payroll Specialist with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. You will be responsible for managing and responding to stakeholder queries, proposing methods to improve customer service, and upskilling new users on systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee payroll administration and maintenance, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Manage and respond to stakeholder queries via email and phone
  • Propose methods to improve customer service and implement changes
  • Upskill new users on systems and provide user admin support
  • Compile reports to ensure payroll reconciliation balances at month end
  • Arrange EMP201 reports for SARS payments and distribute reports as needed

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must have:
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a payroll administrative position
  • HR Payroll systems and Financial Management exposure
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure

What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary range of R550,000 - R700,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical aid, retirement fund, and leave entitlements.
