Myplas (Pty) Ltd, a leading plastic recycling plant in South Africa, seeks an HR Generalist to oversee all human resources functions for its 150-strong team.
This is a permanent position offering excellent autonomy in developing the HR strategy to align with the company's objectives. The successful candidate will be expected to commence in January 2025 and possess broad expertise covering:
- Administering workers' compensation, performance management systems, and safety programs;
- Advising managers on organisational policies, including equal employment opportunities and sexual harassment, and recommending necessary changes;
- Addressing understaffing, resolving disputes, dismissals, and administering disciplinary procedures in collaboration with relevant managers;
The ideal candidate will have experience in planning and conducting new employee orientations, fostering a positive attitude towards organisational objectives. Additionally, they should be skilled in supervising and coordinating subordinate work activities related to employment, compensation, labour relations, and employee relations.
Responsibilities include representing the organisation at related hearings, investigations, and disputes, both internally and externally. They will serve as a link between management and employees, handling questions, disputes, grievances, and assisting in resolving work-related and personal problems.
The incumbent will be responsible for identifying staff vacancies, recruiting, interviewing, and selecting suitable candidates. They must also monitor contracts expiring dates, probation periods, and work permits. Furthermore, they will manage VIP Payroll and analyse training requirements for all staff.
Key qualifications include an Honours or Master's degree in Human Resource Management or Industrial Psychology. Additional beneficial qualifications include ISO training related to manufacturing and ACTIV System training (internal) or other quality management software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is essential.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of experience in HR Generalist/Consulting roles. Computer literacy and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes are required. Experience negotiating at the CCMA and owning a valid driver's licence are advantageous.
The successful candidate will be proficient in English, with payrol and timekeeping experience being desirable. Openness to completing psychometric assessments prior to the hiring process is necessary.
We offer a competitive salary range of approximately R480,000 per annum, depending on experience, based on national averages for similar positions. This amount includes benefits and remuneration that are aligned with industry standards.
